If Predators started out hunting humans in the jungles, we don't know how many centuries that may have gone back
We work on the premise that the Predator would not harm a child
So when tribal warriors were killed by them, there may well have been children who witnessed it
So the stories about "demons" from the other side were passed down as the surviving children grew up and told their interpretation of what they saw
