Royal Wedding

Well it's nice to see where all the extra money we paid for fuel this year got spent.

Everytime we go to the station and it's gone up by a penny yet again (145 in London) we are reminded it's a Royal wedding this year.

Let's see how many of the hookers who were at those expensive hotels last night go on to sell their stories to the tabloids.

Nice to see Elton John in the front row. No doubt thinking up the words for Kate's version of Candle In The Wind.
(at least the Tudors had the front to be open about these things)

Actually, in referencing The Tudors, Kate is at least as fit as Natalie Dormer when she played Ann Bolyen - with gives all the more credence to the theory that none of this is real. We mean really real.

The United Kingdom is not a kingdom, it is a Republic. The Prime Minister is the President. It as been since WWII.

The last monarch to be a real sovreign and have an Empire was Queen Victoria.
It all crumbled under King George, the last monarch to actually have any actual power.
Then we had WWII and Churchill became President.

Perhaps now Charles will do the decent thing and step aside, retire to private life with his "Duchess" and allow Wills to become Prince of Wales and Kate to become Princess Catherine, which is what the people want. He inherits the title more from his mother than Charles anyway.

Then we'll have a new proper royal couple lined up for the throne when Bettie finally pops off.

Maybe then the people will get behind the "monarchy" - even if it isn't real.
