In the wild you don’t see old animals
because as soon as they age,
animals die.

If they get sick or slow down,
something stronger kills them.

Animals aren’t meant to get old.

Our culture has made death something wrong.

Old animals should be an unnatural exception.
Crying is right at hand in the smothering dark,
closed inside someone else,
when you see how everything you can ever accomplish
will end up as trash.

Fallen heros ones we love
and even those we don't like
returned to ashes and soap.
What's worse?

Hell or nothing?

Where would Jesus be if no one had written the gospels?
The wealthy and the poor have this in common,
they worship money.

One as what they feel they can't live without,
one who covets endlessly
and can't stop thinking of what they don't have.

Napoleon bragged that he could train men to sacrifice their lives
for a scrap of ribbon.
We don’t have a great war in our generation,
or a great depression,
but we do,
we have a great war of the spirit.

We have a great revolution against the culture.

The great depression is our lives.
We have a spiritual depression.

We have to show these men and women freedom by enslaving them,
and show them courage by frightening them.
