Price will rise,
politicians will philander,
you too will get old,
and when you do you'll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.

Dont feel guilty if you dont know what to do with your life.

Don't waste your time on jealousy
Sometimes you're ahead,
Sometimes you're behind.
The race is long and, in the end, it is only against yourself.

Dont worry about the future...
Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind,
the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth
... nevermind.
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you cant grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked.

The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence.
Fences have nothing to do with it.
The grass is greenest where it is watered.
When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

Class of 2010
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of 2010...Wear sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years youll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you cant grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked...Youre not as fat as you imagine.
Dont worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Sing
Dont be reckless with other peoples hearts, dont put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss
Dont waste your time on jealousy; sometimes youre ahead, sometimes youre behind...the race is long, and in the end its only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch
Dont feel guilty if you dont know what to do with your life...the most interesting people I know didnt know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still dont.
Get plenty of calcium
Be kind to your knees, youll miss them when theyre gone.
Maybe youll marry, maybe you wont, maybe youll have children, maybe you wont, maybe youll divorce at 40, maybe youll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary...what ever you do, dont congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either - your choices are half chance, so are everybody elses.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can...dont be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, its the greatest instrument youll ever own.
Dance...even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you dont follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
49 second break in speech -- Quindon singing
Get to know your parents, youll never know when theyll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, price will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do youll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Dont expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Dont mess too much with your hair, or by the time its 40, it will look 85.
Be careful who advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than its worth.

The A Team
This turned out to be a prequel to the TV series - how they came to be the A Team, on the run as fugitives. This of course sets it up for a "sequel", a film which would be like an episode of the show, being hired to help people, which has potential.
Most likely this will end up as a one off. It's not a bad film in it's own right, but has little in common with the show, "inspired by" rather than "based on" would be more accurate.
Liam Neeson's interpretation of Hannibal is based on Lee Marvin, even down to the voice he uses. This is not a bad thing as the character is edgy and tense where Peppard's Hannibal was relaxed and cool. We have seen different interpretations of James Bond from the different actors who have played him, so know this can work. Neeson interprets Hannibal probably a lot closer to the way he would have ended up if James Coburn had gotten the part in the first place. Peppards Hannibal ended up being played the same way as he played Banacek.
Face is completely different from the show. Benedict played Face exactly the same way as he did with Starbuck, a smooth talking conman, and a bit of a wimp. Cooper's Face is all macho, the way a Special Forces officer would be. He even gets a shirt off scene.
Murdoch is the best character in the movie - a new way of interpreting the crazy pilot which doesn't detract from the Murdoch we remember and love from the show. It is a new character, not a parody.
BA is the most disapointing aspect of the whole film. The original BA was an extension of the Mr T character itself. There is no real difference between Mr T in public, always staying in charachter, as Clubber Lang in Rocky 3, and as BA in the show.
When we heard he would be played by Rampage Jackson, a UFC star and not an actor, we figured he was picked because he would have a larger than life screen presence. This turned out not to be the case. This BA is quiet and there is this ridiculous subplot where he is some kind of Ghandi disciple embracing non violence. There is no fantastic unarmed fight scene as there could have been. Also in the show he was a mechanic and Staff Sergeant. Here he been relegated to the rank of Corporal. Also, the fact that his firstname was Bosco was only referred to in the show whereas here they call him Bosco all the time.
In this film they are all Army Rangers, whereas in the show it was not really obvious were they came from, just that they were Vietnam vets.
Here Hannibal and Face start as a kind of Batman and Robin team then recruit BA and Murdoch to form the Team before somehow ending up in Iraq working on special missions for General Morrison.
Hannibal would have been a ODA Colonel and would have had at least a dozen men in his Alpha Unit. The show refers to other members of their original unit, and they attend the funeral of one who is murdered and then avenge his death.
Lynch, rather than being a Colonel who is searching for the team, is here a CIA operative. At the end of the film he is replaced by another Lynch, presumably who will go onto hunt them in the sequels.
Jessica Biel, the token girl, does not take on the Amy role but ends up on the team looking for The A Team.
Worst aspect is Hannibal losing it right when the pressure gets worse and letting Face take over and plan the last mission. Early on we see Hannibal mentoring Face and showing him how to do plans, and it would have been OK to see him mentor Face through his first operation. But it shouldn't have happened because Hannibal lost it and needed Face to jump in.
And worse off all Face steals the last line of the movie - and it's THE line.
A good film, could have been done better, and def should have left out the bad bits.
Change BA for the second one.

Marina and the Diamonds
Though we really loved Pixie Victoria Lott and Little Boots with their blonde pop invasions, Marina is the best UK female artist to come along since Lily Allen.
We are adding her vids to V-Pod as they become available.
