The worship of the senses has often, and with much justice, been decried.
Men feel a natural instinct of terror about passions and sensations that seem stronger than themselves, and which they are conscious of sharing with the less highly organised forms of existence.

Do you ever wonder how long it takes to change your life?
What measure of time is enough to be life altering?
Is it four years like school?
One year?
An eight week rock tour?
Can your life change in a month, or a week, or a single day?
We're always in a hurray to grow up, to go places, to get ahead.
And when you're young, one hour can change everything.

Have you ever wondered what marks our timing?
If one life can really make an impact on the world?
Or if the choices we make matter?
Sometimes in order to move forward, you have to go back.
In some cases, just a few minutes.
Have you ever wondered what marks our timing?
If one life can really make an impact on the world?
Or if the choices we make matter?
I believe they do.
And I believe that one person can change many lives.
For better, or worse.

Do you ever wonder if we make the moments in our lives or if the moments in our lives make us?
If you could go back and change one thing about your life, would you?
And if you did, would that change make your life better?
Or would that change ultimately break your heart?
Or break the heart of another?
Or would you choose an entirely different path?
Or would you change just one thing, just one moment?
One moment, that you've always wanted back.
And if you did, would that change make your life better?
Or would that change ultimately break your heart?
Or break the heart of another?
Or would you choose an entirely different path?
Or would you change just one thing, just one moment?
One moment, that you've always wanted back.

You can choose to blame your circumstances on fate or bad luck or bad choices.
Or you can fight back.
Things aren't always going to be fair in the real world.
That's just the way it is.
But for the most part, you get what you give.
The rest of your life is being shaped right now.
With the dreams you chase,
The choices you make,
and the person you decide to be.
The rest of your life is a long time.
And the rest of your life starts right now.
Or you can fight back.

Regret
Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are bigger like when you let down a friend.
Some of us escape the pain of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past, and sometimes we bury our regret by promising to change our own ways.
But our biggest regrets are not for the things we did, but for the things we didn't do. Things we didn't say that could've save someone that we care about.

Much as some of us fight it,
Our parents have a mystical hold over us.
The power to affect our thoughts and emotions
The way only they can.
It's a bond that changes over time, but doesn't diminish,
Even if they are half a world away .....
....or in other world entirely.
It's a power we never fully understand.
We're left only to wonder that when our time comes
What kind of hold will we have on our children ?

Life comes at us from out of the darkness...
and at times we can struggle to find the courage to face it.
When life comes rushing at you from our of the darkness,
who will you choose to face it with?
Will it be someone you trust?
Will they be wise?
And will their love for you help them to guide you to the light?
Or will they lose their way in the darkness?
Will they make noble choices?
Or will that person be someone untested,
someone new?
Life comes rushing at you from out of the darkness,
when it does is there someone in your life you can count on?
Someone who will watch over you when you stumble and fall?
And in that moment, give you the strength to face your fears alone?

Katy Perry
After all the radio play and anticipation, Katy's vid for California Gurls has been released.
Now we've all been picturing a vid shot in Baywatch town, girls in "daisy dukes with bikinis on top", golden skin, on the beach, etc. So what did we get? A lame vid set in some Willy Wonka sweets and candy fantasy town.
However Katy redeems herself in the chorus by lying naked on a cloud while she sings - something you can't do on a California beach.
Check out the vid here:

P.S. You can't get it on You Tube.

Doctor Who
OK, we all miss David Tennant. But isn't Matt Smith doing well?
He hit the ground running kicking ass and taking names from day one and has made the role his own in a very short period of time, not an easy thing to do.
When The Doctor regenerates his personality is all over the place and it's like he's on an extended acid trip. Who can forget Peter Davidson's fifth Doctor in 1982 taking over from the manic Tom Baker and spending time in the Zero Room? - which got jettisoned from the Tardis and left him increasingly unstable.
The Matt Smith "11th" Doctor has a lot of David Tennant in there, but is also very Peter Davidson, the old man in the young man's body. The old man is of course, William Hartnell, and that has been referenced on more than one occassion in the series already.
Taking over from a popular established Doctor is aways tricky. Look at Colin Baker's 6th Doctor, considered by most to be the worst ever having taken over from Peter Davidson. He was forced to leave the show, replaced by Sylvester McCoy who did a good job with the role til the show was axed.
It wasn't really Colin's fault as he was the most aggressive and unpleasant Doctor ever, the most abrasive, having taken over from the pleasant and mild Peter Davidson. He wore the most outrageous outfit, even more than Tom Baker's scarf, and had the blandest assistants, having inherited the pretty but vacant Peri, and then the annoying and totally miscast Bonnie Langford (!)
Ace was a good assistant, but she was more Sylvester McCoy's than she was ever Baker II's.
As we're talking assistants, we have to say that Amy Pond is one of the best ever, and the best since Billie Piper as Rose Tyler (no disrepect to Martha and Katherine Tate, but these two stand out).

Vincent and The Doctor
We've been doing our TV catchup so finally got to see this episode - and what an episode it was - have seen it 3 times now.
We revisited the You Tube page and it has many new comments added, we recommend watching the slide show again and reading them:
Vincent
We have always liked seeing the Doctor meeting famous historical characters and this was one of the best.
It was also great seeing Vincent and Amy. I always wondered how Brittany Golightly would have been if she had gone back and met him - guess it would have been a lot like this.
